  4. I have not received confirmation that my internship application has been accepted.  How can I check what is happening?
  5. The status of your internship application can be seen by logging into www.csisopportunities.org.  If you did not receive an email confirming your registration for the csis internship site it has most likely been blocked by your spam filter.  You can switch your application email address to a personal email account such as gmail or yahoo mail to prevent this problem or add the address internship@csisopportunities.org to your address book to avoid your universities spam filter.

  3. Who do I address my cover letter to?

Please address the cover letter to “To Whom it May Concern”.  There are multiple people at CSIS that will see an intern cover letter so it is impossible to address the letter to one person.

  4. How does my professor submit my letter of recommendation? When are the letters due?

Your professor will receive an email from the CSIS internship application system with a set of instructions, that includes the url, username, and password to log onto site to submit recommendation.  The professor must follow the instructions to submit the recommendation.  To submit the recommendation they must then cut & paste the letter into the webpage.  This will attach your recommendation and application together.  They cannot upload or email the recommendation.   If your professor does not receive the recommendation email or is unable to submit a recommendation then please have them email the recommendation to employment@csis.org with the subject line “Recommendation for Applicants Name” in the subject line with applicants name replaced with the actual name of the person applying to be an intern.  If the subject line is not correct the emailed recommendation may not be accepted, as this is a very busy email account.

**NOTE: Recommendation letters will be accepted on a rolling basis. The deadline for applications is not a hard cutoff for letters.
