Atlas of Our Changing Environment

The website of the United Nations Environment Program (UNEP) features a map reflecting the transformation of the landscape in various world locations over a period of thirty years. Visitors can click on icons representing these sites, ranging from Arkhangelsk in Russia to Jwaneng in Botswana, to compare satellite views of the area across time and notice the effects of urbanization, land cultivation, global warming and other phenomena on certain areas.
