Climate Change Adds to Endangered Species List
According to the Washington Post, the list of endangered species may soon grow due to the effects of climate change. The environmental group, the Center for Biological Diversity, has identified four kinds of seals living in Alaska’s Bering Sea that may face extinction due to melting sea ice caused by climate change. The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration has agreed to evaluate if the seals should be put on the list. The U.S. government has already added certain types of coral to the endangered species list, in part because of global warming. To read more, click here.
