DARPA Funded New Defense Robot - Creepy or Cool?

Check out Jamais Cascio’s blog, Open the Future, to see the “Big Dog,” a new robot made by Boston Dynamics with funding from the Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA). The four-legged robot can walk, run, maintain balance after being kicked, climb obstacles, jump, etc. Its life-like movements are a bit unnerving in their realism. Big Dog may resemble a science-fiction monster, but it does give us insight into the next generation of robotics.
