Dialogue with America

As part of CSIS's Smart Power project, please find here the “Dialogue with America” report for the Smart Power Commission in which thoughts and comments from over 230 people in four states are synthesized into key themes for US future leadership. John Zogby of Zogby International felt that this was a strong qualitative expression of the quantitative data coming in nation-wide.PCR Project Co-Director Rick Barton and visiting fellow Karen Meacham found that despite regional, municipal and group differences, there was an overall consensus on several major issues. CSIS will be returning to the visited states late fall or early next year to discuss the (soon-to-be released) Smart Power Commission findings, with a goal of continuing to track what citizens across the country think, while simultaneously working to get Commission recommendations into presidential campaigns and eventually to the next President and Congress.
