GAO: DOD Needs to Improve Stability Operations

In May 2007, the GAO put out "Actions Needed to Improve DOD’s Stability Operations Approach and Enhance Interagency Planning" for the Subcommittee on National Security and Foreign Affairs, Committee on Oversight and Government Reform, House of Representatives. The DOD agreed with some of the reports recommendations but did not create action plans on the recommendations. GAO then took their recommendations to Congress, asking for them to require DOD to develop an action plan and report its efforts.
