Happy World Water Monitoring Day to You!

Today, September 18, marks the first year of WWMD . The global effort aims to increase awareness about the need to protect water resources. People and groups who sign up will receive water monitoring kits, and must go to local water sources to collect data, which is then input into the WWMD database. By encouraging basic water monitoring, WWMD encourages people all over the world to be conscious and responsible for their water resources. By 2012, they hope to involve over a million individuals across 100 nations.
