Mapping the Future of World Population

The Columbia University Center for Climate Systems Research has created a map documenting population change out to 2025. More precisely, this detailed map shows which geographic regions of the world will experience population losses and which will see gains. We thus get a visual representation of graying Europe and the booming regions of China, India and Africa. Smaller map insets allow us to visualize the way that these population changes will relate to natural resource management. High- and low-resolution versions of the map are available here.
