Mapping the MDGs
Here’s yet another way Google Earth can be creatively employed: to monitor countries’ progress toward the United Nations Millennium Development Goals (MDGs) (hat tip Foreign Policy Passport). The initiative, called MDG Monitor, allows you not only to track progress through interactive maps and country-specific profiles, but also to learn about countries’ challenges and achievements as they work toward the MDGs. In the same vein, the World Bank has utilized Google Maps to provide (in visual format) data and information on their projects across the world. To see this map, click here.
