Microwave Makes Oil Out of Trash

We constantly hear that the demand for energy is growing by the day as is the price of oil.  Maybe we should take a cue from Frank Pringle and look into how the “microwave magician” extracts oil and gas from anything made of hydrocarbons.  Pringle has built a microwave emitter that can make oil and gas out of basically any everyday item, from tires to plastic cups—or as Tomorrows Trends writes, it can “make oil out of trash." According to Popular Science,

“Every hour, the first commercial version will turn 10 tons of auto waste—tires, plastic, vinyl—into enough natural gas to produce 17 million BTUs of energy (it will use 956,000 of those BTUs to keep itself running).”

This innovative approach to achieving energy independence has already received bids from auto-recyclers, the U.S. military, and even oil companies.  To read about how Pringle’s machine actually works, click here.

I read about this in Popular

I read about this in Popular Science. A recycling plant in new york already contracted him to make a larger version for them. It also stated he was working hard at trying to make it work for all kinds of trash due to the fact everything around us is made from hydrocarbons.
I really hope this makes it to the world and works as well as he hopes. The possibilities of such a machine would be endless and help our unrelenting need for energy, and our ever growing landfills.Just think, all that trash is wasted energy and this thing could get that back.
If I were rich I would try everything possible to help this guy.
I know it sounds like something from Back To The Future but need Is the mother of all invention Right? And we DO need something like this!
