NYTimes on the NIE

This is a pretty big deal - we've been tracking the pressure-cooker-of-a-situation that is the U.S. position regarding Iran, and so this newest NIE (National Intelligence Estimate) does rock the boat, reporting that Iran stopped its nuclear weapons program in 2003. Cheney's role in all of this (why wasn't this NIE available earlier?) is questionable, but President Bush says that this changes nothing.

It will be interesting to see how the rest of the world reacts to the NIE conclusions...China already began to question the affect of the new intelligence on U.N. sanctions.
