Obama Signals Readiness To Talk To Taliban

Karin von Hippel was on CBS Evening News to discuss strategy for negotiations with the Taliban, in order to isolate support for extremism and integrate more moderate ideologies.  von Hippel emphasizes the goal should be:

To try and peel off, try to isolate and marginalize the very hard core ones and then try to protect the population. 

The strategy itself is good if they can do it right. It's very difficult. It's very nuanced.
