PCR Project Event | Ambassador Ries

On Friday, March 14th Ambassador Charles Ries, U.S. Minister for Economic Affairs and Coordinator for Economic Transition in Iraq reviewed current challenges to Iraq’s economic growth in the post-surge environment at a PCR Project event. Ambassador Ries tackled questions such as: With some improvements to security, are there now opportunities for the Iraqi government and the international community to foster investment and development? And what of the impact of rising oil prices? Will they mean increased resources for the Iraqis to direct toward this effort? He went on to address key signs of economic progress over the past few months, and examined ways in which redirected international assistance can support the trend.
