Reality Check Afghanistan | Obama emphasizes stability over democracy
President Obama, along with Secretary of Defense Gates, are in the process of re-defining the ultimate goal in Afghanistan from democratic governance to state stability and reasonable security. I BELIEVE YOUR'E PARTIALLY
I BELIEVE YOUR'E PARTIALLY RIGHT EXCEPT YOU LEFT OUT THE INDIAN FACTOR. INDIA MUST, SINCE THE MUMBAI DISASTER, CONVINCE PAKISTAN WITH LESS ATTACK RHEROIC TO MOBILIZE IT'S ARMED FORCES AGAINST THE NWFP AND WEED OUT EMBEDDED TERRORIST ISI OPERATIVES FOR IT'S OWN GOOD OR NOTHING WILL CHANGE. PAKISTANI MILITARY OPS ARE AT BEST WEAK IN NATURE AND ZARDARI IS BASICALLY A LAME DUCK WITH LITTLE CONTROL OVER EITHER.
THE US AND NATO DID NOT READ THE BRITISH OR RUSSIAN DISASTER MODELS FORMAT EITHER FOR AFGHANISTAN.
TRIBAL POLITICS, CLIENT STATE MENTALITIES, FOREIGN FORCES EVERYWHERE AND DISTRUST GALORE AT BEST IT WILL BE AN OLD FASHION CRAP SHOOT!
