Simulation Models for Long-Range Planning

Yesterday I attended a meeting here at CSIS where I had the opportunity to see a fascinating demonstration of the Millennium Institute’s new T21-North America (T21-NA) model user interface. This model was released last Thursday, October 18th and is available for download here.

T21-NA is a tool for looking at energy issues and the many interconnections with broader economic, social, and environmental factors. It provides conceptual diagrams of feedback loops and allows users to create scenarios for the future of energy in North America. The Millennium Institute has also designed T21 models for Africa, the Balkans, Latin America and the Caribbean, and South and East Asia. To read more about T21 more generally, please click here.
