Smart Power Events This Week

Our friends at the CSIS Commission on Smart Power (PCR Co-Director Rick Barton is a commissioner) have a few cool event coming this week that you might want to check out, all of which will be held at CSIS (rsvp to phering@csis.org):

Lael Brainard, vice president and director, Global Economy and Development Program, the Brookings Institution
On December 12, 2007 Ms. Brainard will discuss the importance of foreign assistance for American influence and her vision for reform of the foreign assistance system.

Drew Altman, president and CEO, Kaiser Family Foundation
Andrew Kohut, president, Pew Research Center
On December 13, 2007 Mr. Altman and Mr. Kohut will review the results of a recent Kaiser/Pew survey on global health and foreign assistance and discuss their implications for American Smart Power.
