Special Water Week Series | Introduction

This coming Saturday is World Water Day, as the United Nations declared back in 1992 that March 22 of each year would be dedicated to the conservation and development of water resources around the globe. As a result, countless government organizations, UN agencies, NGOs, and other civic groups will be hosting events relating to water and sanitation, launching new websites, and promoting community water programs this week to gear up for World Water Day.

The CSIS Global Strategy Institute is therefore writing a special series this week for our blog—to share information about exciting water and sanitation-related events around DC as well as other useful online tools and ground-breaking projects from around the world. So please stay tuned for ways that you can get involved in the fight against the global water and sanitation crisis!
