Tensions with Turkey

Ankara will act on their own accord, free of influence from pressure in Washington, Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan explained, concerning a cross-border incursion into northern Iraq against Kurdish rebels. Turkish President Abdullah Gul Ankara delivered a message to Kurdish rebels, saying Turkey is running out of patience with the violent Kurdistan Workers' Party (PKK). The Turkish military fired on the rebels, killing more than 60. An Iraqi delegation is meeting in Ankara to try and come up with a diplomatic solution, hoping to abate a full level attack on Iraq's northern territory.
