Articles of Interest in the Pakistani Press Today

Responding to a recent NY Times article which claimed that U.S. officials are increasingly worried about an Afghan Taliban stronghold in Southern Pakistan, an article in Pakistan's Dawn Newspaper argues that the Afghan Taliban do not have a safe haven in Southern Pakistan in the sense that the U.S. believes they do.
Another article in Pakistan's Dawn Newspaper gives local reports of citizens fleeing the South Waziristan region in Pakistan, possibly in anticipation of a new offensive by the Pakistani military.
In Pakistan's Daily Times newspaper, Retired Air Vice Marshal Shahzad Chaudhary provides an interesting Pakistani perspective on the possible shift in American policy in Afghanistan, favouring Obama's reevalutation of priorities and strategy in the aftermath of McChrystal’s report on state of war in Afghanistan.
