UN-backed Forum Aims to Spread Technology Know-how in Africa

Today, the UN-supported Information and Communication Technology (ICT) Best Practices Forum for West and Central Africa kicked off in Ouagadougou, Burkina Faso. According to a recent EU meeting, "if all of the innovations in ICT from all African countries were to be compiled in one country, it would be the 12th most technology advanced nation in the world. This highlights how African countries have much to learn from both each other and from nations worldwide." The group hopes that by sharing experiences and best practices, technology solutions will spread throughout the region. Microsoft will create a website to highlight the issues discussed in the forum.
