USAID to Screen Humanitarian Groups for Terrorist Ties

Yikes, this is something that’s got a lot of people talking - USAID will now begin screening key personnel from aid groups for ties to terrorist organizations. The outcry is growing (front page on the Washington Post today and we’ve already received a handful of emails from groups officially opposing the move). It’ll certainly not increase efficiency, given that these background checks are to be conducted by the FBI and other law enforcement agencies. There are a lot of bigger issues involved in this, too - what are your thoughts?
