The World is Not Enough

Google’s seeming omnipresence, in particular the widespread use of Google Earth, has caused many to wonder (sometimes with concern) whether technology will soon allow Internet users to visualize us in real-time in our very back yards.  In the meantime, here is someone else’s back yard. Google just significantly updated Google Moon, which operates in a similar way as Google Earth, but – you got it – for the Moon. The program shows a detailed view of the lunar surface (granted, it is not as diverse as its earthly counterpart, but it can also make for a beautiful sight). It also allows users to access information gathered from various Apollo missions to retrace the location of rocket landings and astronaut wanderings, as well as various types of multimedia.
