Accountability in Peacekeeping Missions and 1325 Implementation

  • The Finnish Embassy, CSIS, and the American Society of International Law hosted a half-day meeting with representatives from the NGO community on the implementation of policies adopted in 2004 by the UN, the U.S. Department of Defense, and NATO on human trafficking and sexual exploitation and abuse.  Noting discrepancies between these policies and the continued prevalence of sexual exploitation, invited experts sought ways to improve implementation over the next two years.  This event was made possible by the Finnish Embassy and the Gruber Family Foundation.
