Air Force Acquisition

With a robust acquisition program, the U.S. Air Force is posturing for future acquisition successes and improvement of the Air Force's acquisition system in research and development, test, production and a modernization program portfolio of over $32 billion annually.

As the Air Force's Service Acquisition Executive, Dr. LaPlante draws on more than 29 years of experience in defense technology including positions at the MITRE Corporation and the Johns Hopkins University Applied Physics Laboratory as well as extensive government experience. He will take a look at Air Force acquisition priorities; discuss industry relationships, "Better Buying Power", owning the technical baseline, long-term strategies and offer major acquisition program updates.
