International Economic Cooperation: Is It at Risk?

The CSIS Pacific Partners Initiative is pleased to host Dr. Martin Parkinson PSM, Australia’s Secretary to the Treasury, who will deliver a keynote speech on the challenges facing the traditional international architecture for economic cooperation. Dr. Parkinson will highlight the importance of using new structures, such as sub-global forums, to strengthen rather than undermine global cooperation.

Dr. Martin Parkinson was appointed Australia’s secretary to the treasury in March 2011, and since taking this position has served concurrently in numerous institutions including the prime minister’s Business Advisory Council, the Board of the Reserve Bank, and chair of the Advisory Board for the Australian Office of Financial Management.
