CSIS's Europe Program and its Defense-Industrial Initiatives Group, along with the Embassy of the Republic of Poland and the Office of the U.S. Deputy Secretary of Defense, hosted a conference on bilateral defense cooperation. The conference included speeches by Gordon England, U.S. deputy secretary of defense, and Radoslaw Sikorski, defense minister of Poland. Also, the conference included a panel discussion with:
- Maj. Gen. Edward Gruszka, Polish Ministry of Defense
- Jim Townsend, director, International Security Program, Atlantic Council
- Dr. Kenneth Oscar, vice president for strategy, Fluor Corporation
CSIS President and CEO John Hamre introduced England and Sikorski, and moderated a question-and-answer session. Robin Niblett, CSIS's executive vice president and director of its Europe program, welcomed the attendees.
