Building Trust in Iraq Today

Undersecretary of Defense Douglas J. Feith addressed a CSIS luncheon on July 8, and delivered a talk entitled "Building Trust in Iraq Today." Feith's talk discussed the challenges of improving the security environment in Iraq, involving the Iraqis in self-governance, international cooperation, and other topics of high interest. "The issue of developing institutions that have authority and legitimacy in the eyes of Iraqis now is our great political challenge," he said.
