    Join us as former president (2000-2006) Ricardo Lagos discusses his recently published book Southern Tiger: Chile's Fight for a Peaceful and Democratic Future (Palgrave Macmillan). 

    Lagos reveals an inside history of Chile's transition from the authoritarian rule of Augusto Pinochet to the robust democracy and vibrant economy the country is known for today.  Lagos highlights his role in the process, from a leading opposition figure to the presidency.  President Lagos will also focus on the challenges that lay ahead for Chile, Latin America, and U.S.-Chile relations.  Please join us for what is sure to be a fascinating trip through Chile's recent past from a president who helped shape its future.
