Washington DC, 20006The Center for Strategic and International Studies (CSIS) Global Health Policy Center and CARE held a conversation with Congressman Keith Ellison (D-MN) on his recent Africa tour with the joint CSIS / CARE delegation to Kenya. In Nairobi, Nyanza Province and North East Province, he examined the impact of U.S. investments in different health areas including maternal health, prospects for integration of U.S.-supported health programs, and the challenges of meeting urgent humanitarian needs of a burgeoning refugee population in the North East border area.
