    On November 14, 2008, the Americas Program of the Center for Strategic and International Studies hosted a conference on the topic:

    "Controlling Corruption in Local Government in Latin America"

    This half-day event examined efforts in place in the region to fight corruption in local government and to identify resources from multilateral and bilateral cooperation that can be focused on improving the quality of local government.
