United Nations Peacebuilding Commission Chair for the Liberia Configuration

A roundtable discussion on the United Nations Peacebuilding Commission's engagement in Liberia, and its role is assisting in establishing sustainable peace and prevent a relapse into violent conflict. Ambassador Zeid Ra'ad Zeid Al Hussein, the Permanent Representative of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan to the United Nations, who serves as the PBC Chair of the Liberia country specific configuration, will speak about the efforts of the Peacebuilding Commission in three priority areas: security sector reform, rule of law, and national reconciliation. Reflecting on his travels in Liberia this past November and in preparation for his upcoming trip in February, the Ambassador will seek to exchange views on the status of peace consolidation in Liberia.
