For hundreds of years, Spain has shared close political and economic ties with Latin America. With the vast shared history and culture, the country is, in many ways, inextricably linked to its counterparts here in the Western Hemisphere, traditionally taking a dominant role in its ties to the region. But recent years have seen those dynamics beginning to change, as more than ever before, Latin American countries have achieved high degrees of economic growth and political stability.
