The 7th U.S.-China Strategic & Economic Dialogue: Process, Achievements and the Road Ahead
The United States and China are holding the 7th US-China Strategic & Economic Dialogue this June. The S&ED process is year-round, but is highlighted by the annual meeting of a large number of senior officials on both sides to strengthen relations and address major pressing issues of bilateral and global concern. Following this year's annual gathering, CSIS will host a discussion featuring three US officials deeply involved in the process. Treasury Deputy Assistant Secretary Robert Dohner helps to guide US policy on economic issues in Asia. Christopher Adams and Susan Thornton are the chief coordinators, respectively, for the economic and strategic tracks of the dialogue. Following their initial remarks, Scott Kennedy will offer additional commentary about the dialogue and the broader relationship.
