The Current State of the Global AIDS Epidemic and Key Implications for an Effective AIDS Response

The CSIS HIV/AIDS Task Force and the Henry J. Kaiser Family Foundation hosted a discussion on the current methodology used in the collection and evaluation of global AIDS data, and provided a summary of preliminary results from recent AIDS surveys undertaken in 130 countries.Speakers were:
- Paul De Lay, director of monitoring and evaluation, UNAIDS
- Stephen Morrison, director, CSIS HIV/AIDS Task Force and Africa Program
- Phillip Nieburg, senior associate and co-chair, prevention committee, CSIS HIV/AIDS Task Force
- Karen Stanecki, senior adviser, epidemiology, UNAIDS

On Tuesday, April 25, the CSIS HIV/AIDS Task Force hosted an event at which the U.S. Government Accountability Office released its report on prevention efforts under the President's Emergency Plan for AIDS Relief. Find more information on the event here.
