Please join the Project on Prosperity and Development for a historical look at the ethanol development experience in Brazil with Mario Garnero.  As the former President of the National Association of Automotive Vehicle Manufacturers (ANFAVEA), Mr. Garnero successfully lobbied the four major automotive companies in Brazil to begin producing ethanol fuel-based vehicles when Brazil was experiencing a severe petroleum crisis.

Mr. Garnero comes to CSIS with decades of experience in investing in businesses and attracting foreign investment to Brazil.  First and foremost an entrepreneur, Mr. Garnero firmly believes in harnessing the power of the private sector to bring opportunity.  His company, BrasilInvest, has attracted $12 billion in foreign investment to Brazilian-based companies.
