Evolution of the Gulen Hizmet Movement with Dr. Alp Aslandogan

October 19, 2012 • 2:30 – 4:00 pm EDT

Please join us on October 19 for a discussion on the Gulen Hizmet Movement with Dr. Alp Aslandogan, President of the Alliance for Shared Values, a New York-based non-profit umbrella organization for cultural and interfaith dialogue organizations around the U.S., and Board Member of the Gulen Institute.

Focusing on education but also active in many other fields, the faith-inspired movement around Muslim scholar, preacher, and social advocate Fethullah Gulen has recently attracted even greater interest in the U.S. Dr. Aslandogan will discuss the history, vision and activities of the Hizmet Movement, as it is referred to by its members, or the Gulen Movement, as it is more generally known. He will then respond to questions and comments by participants.

The meeting with Dr. Aslandogan is a follow-up to the CSIS event where he spoke back in June 2009. We will meet in the 4th Floor Conference room at CSIS, 1800 K Street NW. To confirm attendance, please call (202) 457-8715 or email rbeardsley@csis.org.
