The Role of the USAID Private Capital Group

Deputy Assistant Administrator for Africa Raja Jandhyala will outline the goals and activities of USAID’s Private Capital Group for Africa (PCGA), a new initiative that aims to leverage private investment for Africa. The partnership aspires to catalyze over $500 million in private funds to support enterprises, provide sustainable livelihoods, and create jobs and is part of the U.S. government’s renewed emphasis on trade and investment in Africa. Carolyn Campbell and Karima Ola will offer perspectives from the private sector on the program and on the challenges and opportunities for investment in Africa. This session is part of the CSIS Africa Program series on Overcoming Barriers to Investment in Africa.
