Fourth Seminar on NATO’s Strategic Concept

The CSIS Kissinger Chair partnered with the National Defense University, NATO’s Allied Command Transformation, and the other members of the Washington NATO Project (the Atlantic Council of the United States, the German Marshall Fund of the United States and the Center for Transatlantic Relations at Johns Hopkins SAIS) in planning and organizing the fourth Strategic Concept Seminar for the NATO Group of Experts charged with developing the foundation for a new NATO Strategic Concept. Secretary of State Hillary R. Clinton, Secretary of Defense Roberts M. Gates, and National Security Advisor General James L. Jones addressed the Group. The seminar, held at NDU, explored NATO’s further political and military transformation priorities including, structures, forces, and capabilities. Keynote speeches and summary of proceedings.
