Fragile States and Transition in West Africa

International Crisis Group's Mike McGovern discussed fragile states in transition in West Africa and how best regional leaders and the international community can engage to promote long-term stability.  Key topics addressed will include: responses to the coups in Mauritania and Togo and the coming succession crisis in Guinea; the continuing crisis in Cote d’Ivoire; and prospects for the consolidation of peace in post-election Liberia.
