The Future of Kosova

On November 19, the CSIS Eastern European Project co-sponsored a conference on "The Future of Kosova" with the National Albanian American Council and the Dayton Peace Accords Project. Speakers offered both regional and U.S. perspectives on security and stability issues of regional and domestic impact. "By fault of inaction, a process will take place that will be unsatisfactory to a substantial portion of [Kosova's] population," said R. Bruce Hitchner, chairman of the Dayton Peace Accords Project. Rep. Elliot Engel (D-NY)also contributed to the concluding remarks. A comprehensive report on the conference findings is forthcoming.
