CSIS hosted a panel discussion on its new report, The Future of the National Guard and Reserves. Christine Wormuth, a senior fellow at CSIS and the report's principal author, presented opening remarks and then opened the floor to questions for her and the report's other authors: Michèle Fluornoy, a senior adviser, P.T. Henry, and Clark Murdock, a senior adviser.
The report, the third phase of CSIS's Beyond Goldwater-Nichols Project, makes more than 40 recommendations concerning the National Guard and Reserves; their roles and missions; how they are organized, trained, and equipped; and what citizen soldiers should expect from the U.S. military in exchange for their service.
