The CSIS Energy and National Security Program is pleased to invite you to a conversation with Marie Therese Dominguez, Administrator of the Pipeline and Hazardous Materials Administration (PHMSA). As administrator, Ms. Dominguez is responsible for overseeing PHMSA’s development and enforcement of regulations for the safe, reliable, and environmentally sound operation of the nation’s 2.6 million miles of gas and liquid pipelines and nearly 1 million daily shipments of hazardous materials by land, sea, and air.

Ms. Dominguez will provide an overview of PHMSA as well as her thoughts on the country’s main challenges and opportunities with regard to the transportation of energy and hazardous materials that are essential to daily life. As PHMSA moves forward with a reorganization to more effectively address these issues, education and outreach to all stakeholders, such as the public, emergency responders, and industry, remains crucial. We hope you can join us for this important and timely discussion.
