Future Vertical Lift: Opportunities For Innovation

October 29, 2015 • 10:00 – 11:00 am EDT

The Future Vertical Lift initiative established in 2009 by the Secretary of Defense seeks a joint approach for the next generation vertical lift aircraft for the U.S. Armed Forces. With the Joint Multi-Role (JMR) Technology Demonstrator phase currently underway and rotorcraft flight demonstrations set to begin in 2017, FVL's focus on technology development has captured the attention of the defense industrial base. This event, part of a series on Future Vertical Lift, explores the technologies and capabilities available now and going forward to support future warfighters, as well as where the ultimate technological gains are likely to lie for the Department of Defense. The panelists discussed the vision for how these advances will change the future battlefield and the differentiating role that FVL will play in aviation operations.
