With global energy security and climate change concerns quickly developing into matters of national security for states around the world, the High North region has increasingly become a priority for nations on the Arctic's periphery. As part of our "Geopolitics in the High North" project in partnership with the Norwegian Institute for Defence Studies (IFS), this event gathered a select group of experts ranging from senior level government and embassy officials, corporate executives, and highly respected scholars. We addressed the region's security outlook, the potential prospects and pitfalls offered by more accessible energy reserves, and the enhancement of the institutional framework to ensure good environmental governance for the Arctic.
