Global Space Development Summit

  • Thursday - Friday, Nov 12 - 13, 2009
  • The Summit, co-organized by the American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics (AIAA), the Chinese Society of Astronautics (CSA), the Center for Strategic and International Studies (CSIS), and the Space Foundation, and co-sponsored by American Astronautical Society (AAS), the International Academy of Astronautics (IAA), and the International Astronautical Federation (IAF), involved high-level political, agency, academic and industry participants from space-faring nations around the world in discussions of the benefits and challenges of international cooperation in space. Over the course of two days, summit participants examined critical developments on issues related to space exploration and Earth observations. This event is the second of what we hope will become an annual summit intended to focus on the future of international coordination and governance structures for space development and exploration.
