With half the world's population under age 25, youth are a large and growing share of the labor force in many economies, especially across the developing world. Yet, youth are up to four times more likely to be unemployed than adult workers; threatening global prosperity and stability. One key factor driving this crisis is a skills, knowledge and readiness gap that prevents youth from taking advantage of employment opportunities. Young people are not being adequately prepared for the jobs of today or the future, yet hold significant promise to drive growth and innovation.

Please join us for a discussion on this critical global challenge and opportunity. Panelists will explore how public and private sector actors are innovating in policy, programs and partnerships to unleash the potential in today's youth.

This event is part of CSIS’s ongoing “Chevron Forum on Development” series, which seeks to highlight the role of the private sector in global development.
