ARNOLD BAKER, chief economist at Sandia National Laboratories, spoke on global energy futures. He explored the future of energy supply and demand through the Global Energy Futures Model and Electricity Generation Cost Simulation Model developed at Sandia. Dr. Baker emphasized the importance of such models as teaching tools to inform policymakers and the public on the positive or negative impacts generated by energy policies in the United States and worldwide.
