- Wednesday, Oct 26, 2005
-
JEAN-PHILIPPE COTIS, chief economist at the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD), discussed the OECD’s recent research on the structural policy priorities for all member countries to enhance GDP per capita. Over the past decade, the GDP per-capita gap relative to the United States has widened in a number of countries, including large continental European economies and Japan. The source of the gap is linked to lower hours worked per capita and/or lower productivity levels per hour worked.
