If Israel struck Iran militarily, experts say, Iran would likely seek to retaliate against U.S. and GCC interests in the Gulf, Iran and Afghanistan. While Dr. Gary Sick argued that the aftermath of such a strike would be so profound as to make it both undesirable and unlikely, Dr. Kenneth Katzman suggested that contingencies are already in place to help manage the consequences. Both men spoke at a Gulf Roundtable hosted by the CSIS Middle East Program on April 21, 2010.
