The History of the International AIDS Conference

Please join the CSIS Global Health Policy Center to look at the history of the International AIDS Conference. At the event, CSIS' Katherine Bliss will discuss the findings of her two-year historical analysis of the evolution of the international AIDS conference, from its first meeting in 1985 to the upcoming conference in Washington, DC, this July. After her presentation, Katherine will be joined by Anthony Fauci, Director of the National Institute of Allergies and Infectious Diseases; Elly Katabira, President of the International AIDS Society and international co-chair of AIDS2012; and David Munar, President and CEO of the AIDS Foundation of Chicago to discuss the value of the conference in advancing key scientific, political, and advocacy agendas in the fight to end HIV/AIDS. The discussion will be moderated by Diane Havlir, the U.S. co-chair of AIDS2012.
